Master of None

Starts off like a normal "hopeless single man in the city" sitcom but quickly develops into a thought provoking series.  Each episode has a theme from how we act to our parents, dating in the modern era, how relationships start, mature then fail  to the racial prejudices we* face, to attitudes to the elderly.

Really well written and if you can stand Aziz Asari's face (which I know some can't) it's a great bit of television.

Agreed, Paulie, I loved Master of None. Some of the episodes in Season 2 are great, those filmed in Italy were stylish and fun, the multiple first dates was a good concept and brilliantly edited but Denise's 'coming out' episode was the highlight.

I wish I had a big bud like Arnie.

American Gods. 8/10. Something a bit different. Slow burn but entertaining.

The Expanse - series 2. 9/10. Great characterisation, great plotting, and twists and turns abound. Can't wait for series 3 next year, but will save them up to binge watch them, the way I have with the first two.

I'm fairly certain nobody would be interested in these DC superhero TV shows (do you even get them ?)....Legends of Tomorrow, Flash, Supergirl ?

I'm working on The Flash now, and besides the decent workmates and interesting design projects, this enchantress just walked in with a toy poodle in hand to do a walk-through. She's the main star (Iris)....

Candice Patton is her name.

Yum.

She's a grower. I wasn't sure at first but then I slowly realised that I'd like to bum her. Don't tell her mind.

Oh and do not spoil Flash, I don't want to know if Barry Allen is or isn't on set after last season's finale.

Travelers - Time travel series found on Netflix. A solid 7.5/10.

Basic premise is that the future is shit and humanity is hanging on by a thread. You never actually see any of this, probably due to budgetary reasons, and this information only comes from characters in the here and now. How it works is a consciousness from the future over writes a subject from the past. They also only use people who were going to die and obviously whose death could be then be avoided with foresight. Their mission is then to change the past to improve the future. Really enjoyed this. Actors are good and the characters particularly Marcy are interesting.

Expanse - 2nd series. 8.5/10. Much improved from the first series. If you had a look but weren't sure I would say try again. There aren't many space TV series at the moment but this is probably the best out there.

Is The Leftovers worth watching?

First season is very good, second is all over the place. Not sure about the third, it got rave reviews but I will give it a try based on enjoying the first season.

It took a long while to want to watch the it again but I'm halfway through the second and I think it's ace. It's lost the sheer bleakness of the first but kept it darkly comic. The way the episodes overlap one another could be seen as gimmicky but it works.
