Die hard attitude and worked his arse off for the team, club and fans. Every team needs players with his mindset

But, its hard to forget his technical deficiencies, he had one of the worst first touches I've ever seen for a top flight footballer and he was a major part of our team for 6 years and we only won one trophy, in that time. You can't really say he was a legend.

He's not a cult hero Vlad. Erik Meijer is a cult hero. Igor Biscan is a cult hero. 285 games and 71 goals is more than a cult hero.

Sotirios Kyrgiakos is my favourite cult hero.  For one month he was like the second coming of Sami Hyypia, was as Greek as they come and he also got Fellaini injured for 6 months (though he was unlucky to be sent that day).

As for Dirk, probably not a legend but certainly an important player in the club's history.

That's Iron logic there.  We only won one trophy with Suarez too.  Just gonna ignore the gibberish about his first touch.

How often can a club have a legend? How many can a club have? Top 10 players, top 50?

I wouldn't say Kuyt was a legend as he wasn't in the same league as Dalglish, Gerrard, Barnes, Liddell etc but he's certainly not in the cult hero category either.

He's in the next category down from legend, whatever that is, like a B list legend. Big contribution to the club, well liked and respected but not legendary.

Would anyone say that any of these aren't modern club legends based on their contribution to our team post 1991?

Gerrard, Fowler, Suarez, Carragher, Hyypia, Torres, Alonso, Kuyt, Reina, McAllister, McManaman, Owen, Hamann, Dudek, Garcia, Mascherano, Rob Jones, Babbel, Riise.

Thing is though that if you're talking legends you have to look at our team post 1892. There's a few in that list would still qualify.

This might be unpopular but legend is getting as watered down as world class.

Torres, even Suarez - they can be in the conversation for our most prolific strikers - neither are Liverpool legends FFS.

Suarez may become legendary, but not a Liverpool legend.

Alot of those others are great players but Rob Jones a Liverpool legend?

Jerzy Dudek -- really? Luis fuckin Garcia can drink as much sangria as he wants and re-tweet YNWA at every opportunity - he is not a legend.
