Against Hoffenheim at the weekend he waved at the Dortmund fans in a way that suggested he was saying goodbye after been given a 15 minute run out after the game was done and dusted. Huh? Is it not standard practice to compare the player coming into the side with the player already there? If Andy Carroll was scoring the goals his price-tag dictates he should, we'd likely not be on the hunt for other players to fill the void.

 

Yeah, I think there's a need to see if the player coming in can do his job better than the one he's coming in to do the job of. It's not a dig, it's realism. Carroll has been poor and we need somebody to score more goals than him if we want to climb the table.
