Their defense is completely fucked and they will keep dropping points until is unfucked, which could take a while. They need Vermaelen and Wilshere back badly, but even the likes of Sagna and Koscielny (and Djorou) are going to be missed because the back-up options are poor. That Jenkinson has looked way out of his depth so far, and Mertesacker is playing like a poor man's Robert Huth.

There's a good article on Wenger on the latest edition of The Blizzard, asking whether he was better in adjusting the team he inherited than he has been in building his own team. Can't repost it here but well worth a read.

Without reading it, I'd say that you have to fully credit Wenger with building the "invincibles" squad. I think his problems have come with not adjusting to the increased wealth of competitors & his obsession with buying very young & developing

It's more interesting than that. It talks about how he originally planned to ditch Graham's defence as quickly as possible because he considered them too old for example, but then was impressed that his coaching allowed them to adapt to his ideas. Also about how he found a way to use Parlour and some other old guard. There's a lot more. If you don't read the Blizzard, you probably should ;)

They've got Stoke coming up. Arsenal always loves playing those guys.

Cue moral indignation everytime a Stoke player so much as breathes on an Arsenal player, with much holding of heads in hands.

We should do a sweepstake for which player gets snapped in half first.
