Really good performance. The midfield were completely on top today - Lucas, Gerrard and Meireles all did extremely well. And Torres looked like....Torres.

 

Wish all weekends ended like this.

Lucas -- absolutely immense! He must have been studying videos of Der Kaiser, because he's got the Turn-and-Flop down pretty good. Lessons from the master.

 

Martin Kelly -- lad must feel about ten feet tall right now. Lost a big chunk of his early career to injury, now he steps in against one of the best football teams in Europe and absolutely walks it. Made up for him.

Superb result, didn't think we had that in us. Got worried about sitting back in the second half but we got away with it. Lucas and Gerrard were excellent in the middle, Carra and Skrtel were brilliant at the back, everyone had a good game today.

Great having Kuyt back as well, he'd walk through walls for us.

Couldn't have envisaged such a result. You could argue, I guess, that it's these games, where we're the underdogs, that Hodgson's tactics can work. I don't think we'd be so lucky to get away without conceding a few playing like we did in the second half, on most other occasions though.

Lucas was great today; but he was a very good player for us last season as well. Today was definitely one of his best performances in a red shirt. He keeps improving and if that continues, he'll be some player in a couple of years.
