Johnny Rotten

Three absolute legends of music and each have had some part in creating some of my own personal favourite songs and albums over the yeas. I'd even go as far as to say that all three have influenced my life in varying degrees.

However, every time I watch the telly, it seems you can't go a bloody ad break without seeing Blowin' In The Wind on a Co-op advert, Iggy Pop prostituting himself selling 'time' on a car insurance advert or Johnny Rotten in johdpers hawking butter.

A little piece of me dies whenever I see one of those bloody adverts. And don't even get me started on You're The Best Thing and There She Goes being used to advertise fucking couches.

Even though the actions of all three displease me to an extent, I think I'm more pissed off with Iggy Pop. Rotten's long been a bit of a twat, in my opinion, so I'm not surprised at him and at least Dylan himself isn't in one of those adverts pushing a trolley around the aisles of a Co-op talking about low prices. Iggy Pop's are just unforgivable.

If you'd have said to me a just after me and a hundred other people stormed the stage when The Stooges played at Glasto the other year that he'd be advertising car insurance in the future, I think I'd have asked for a bit of what you were smoking.
