I hope we can go to Villa park and get a win tomorrow. I was thinking we might struggle without Gerrard, but seeing as he wasn't fully fit anyway we may not miss him as much as first thought.

 

The return of Mascherano is a big plus for us, breaking up their attacks and just adding extra muscle to the side. Alonso should start too and if we get a bit of width he can shine again spraying balls all over the place.

 

Hopefully Keane can start to produce what alot of us are expecting from him in this game. I just can't help thinking that he may come under more pressure now though as he may feel he has to fill Gerrard's boots while he is away. Who knows though he could even thrive on it.

 

It's not even worth predicting what wide players Rafa is going to employ because it almost looks like Yossi and Dirk are nailed on to start until we get somebody else. I don't agree with it but I just hope they can start performing soon, out wide.

 

At the back we seem solid enough, it's well documented that I think Finnan should be in there before Arbeloa but i'm not even going to go there. I'd like to see Agger get a start tomorrow. I've got nothing against Skirtel but he's very similar to Carra and we lack balance when they are playing together. Agger has the ability to bring the ball out of defence well, and cuts out the long searching balls and seeing as we no longer have Crouch it can only be a good thing.

 

I just hope we can get a good result tomorrow and play some good football at the same time.

We should play Keane off Torres and start Babel and Kuyt in the system we had last season.

 

Mascherano in for Gerrard alongside Alonso and I'd start Dossena too.
