lekmk Prmotions are proud to announce that Liverpool and Britpop legends SPACE will be playing two gigs in Ireland in May 2016.
The band that brought you iconic songs including Female of the Species and Ballad of Tom Jones will play The Belfast Empire on May 6 and will then appear in The Grand Social in Dublin the following evening on May 7.
Accompanying Tommy Scott, Franny Griffiths and the rest of the band will be Dublin band Late Ctiy Edition, and both gigs are expected to be a trip down memory lane, while also showing SPACE’s Britpop, neo-psychedelic magic.
Having released their latest album ‘Attack Of The Mutant 50ft Kebab’ in March 2014 – their first new album for nine years – SPACE arrive in Ireland in 2016 with a full new set list, while there will also be all the iconic tunes we all remember.
The band have been touring the UK through 2015 performing at festivals through the summer before embarking on the full UK tour in October and November to promote the first ever Boxset of Albums.
Tommy Scott’s influence for the new songs stemmed from his infamous fascination with science and horror films, and he likens the album to a ‘Fifties B-Movie’ for the ears.
Space have sold over 2 million albums worldwide with titles including Spiders, Tin Planet, Suburban Rock and Roll and Attack of the Mutant 50ft Kebab.
They also released 10 top 40 singles and a host of other single releases to-date with titles including Neighborhood, Female of the Species, Me and You vs The World, Avenging Angels, Dark Clouds and Begin Again.
The band continue to write gritty edgy pop songs that captivate the imagination of the listener and you are invited to get on board for what is sure to be two truly special nights next May.
