Voronin has good vision for a pass and i wouldnt be surprised to see him and Torres link well.

Im looking forward to seeing how Babel plays. He played midweek for Holland and now has his chance to cement his claim for a first team place. If he has a stormer today then would put pressure on Riise to raise his game.

I think Crouch is been saved for midweek, whether or not Crouch is prepared to settle for roles in the Champs Lge only time will tell.

I like that team, pretty much what I wanted to see. Excited to see both Voronin and Babel start, I didn't think Rafa would drop Riise for this game. Let's hope Babel can cause them all sorts of problems.

Arbeloa will have to be on his toes though, I doubt Babel will offer as much defensive help as Riise does.

The difference in strength in depth is really notable compared to last season. Rafa really can put out a lot of different teams of pretty much equal strength.

Possibilities, for sure.

I'm not sure about that yet. I hope you're proven right, but I've seen almost nothing of the new boys to confirm it.

Does anyone think there is a chance of Crouch being offloaded? I'm a bit surprised he hasn't had a look in yet, though obviously this is only game three.

With Bojinov being injured at Man Citeh and them having a few bob right now, I wonder...

Purely speculative on my part.

Exactly what I began thinking as I realised his omission. I know its a long season and Crouch will no doubt see his slice of action but he can't be happy. At all.

It could be that with the £7m we budgeted for Heinze and a potential £10-12 mill that the big lad would fetch in, Rafa could be looking at a left wing option...again just a thought.

I would rather keep but play Crouch and Voro, despite his legendary Wolfdom, would be the one taking a lesser role.

Well i think we are stronger in depth upfront this season.

Kuyt, Crouch, Fowler and Bellamy compared to this season Kuyt, Crouch, Torres and Voronin and personally i think we are stronger now.

No Benayoun again which considering the cash we paid out does seem a bit of a surprise. I think he cost around £4 million and we were willing to pay £7 million for Heinze. Would it not have been better to add a little and sign a right winger to compete with Pennant.
