Finnan------Carra------Agger-----Arbeloa

Gerrard----Alonso----Mascherano----Riise

----------Crouch-----Kuyt---------

That would be the safe, solid and workmanlike option Neil, and it may well be the one he starts with, allowing Pennant, Bellamy, Kewell and possibly Gonzalez to be impact players.

Would go with this except Bellamy for Crouch. I don't trust pennant, so Gerrard on the right for me and he can stay central when we are defending against a Milan midfield which has its strength centrally.

I believe its 4-2 Liverpool. Let Kuyt run around for 60 minutes then bring Kewell on up front.

If I see Zenden on the left I'll be moaning like an old woman.

Also, I think Sissoko could play an important part, but only off the bench. As you say, we need to keep the ball as well as we can, and he is not going to help us much with that. If we manage to get our noses in front, though, he could play a major part in the last half hour.

Kaka's pace and strength worry me immensely, which is why I think we need Mo in there. He's the only one, bar Gerrard, who can match him in those terms. I know both Xabi and The Chief read it well and take up good positions, but I think Kaka's explosive bursts could leave both for dead. I think we need the combination of Mo and The Chief to deal with him.

It's interesting that noone has Bellamy in their side. It's a mark both of how quickly his stock seems to have fallen, and how Crouch has risen to the challenge - no more than four months ago I was of the opinion that we played all our best football with Bellamy in the side, and that he was one of the first names on the teamsheet.

The worry I have with your team Paul is Gerrard, Momo, Xabi and the Chief getting in each other's way. Have we ever played the 4 together? I'm really unsure about our formation for this game, as I've posted on a previous thread I think 3 at the back and 5 in midfield is the best way to combat Milan's formation. But then I don't think we've played that enough times this season to be trying it in the biggest game of the season.
