good question, both fantastic actors but I think De Niro wins it for me the range he has is amazing and just immerses himself in roles thought he was great in Godfather 2, Goodfellas, Taxi Driver and Deer Hunter.

 

Pacino though has had some classic roles such as in the Godfather, Carlitos Way and Scent of a Woman. Its a tough call.
