I'm sure there's absolutely nothing to stop Morgan doing a deal where he invests £30m or so in return for a big chunk of shares and a directorship for himself (and his wife) leaving Moores as Chairman with the biggest shareholding but without Moores having overall control.

However Morgan just wants to take over on the cheap and would probably want to get most of his cash back by floating the club a year or so later (with himself continuing as Chairman of course).

Heres my answer to the original question:

Definite keepers:

Carra, Gerrard, Alonso, Baros +Morientes and Cisse if they prove themselves

Not seen much of any of these lot in goal, but given the form of our two top shot-stoppers so far this season I'd be willing to give them a go between the sticks.

....as for the question Paul:

I think Morientes will prove his worth. Gerrard, Alonso and Milan without question. Obviously Carra. And then Cisse, Kewell, Riise, Finnan. There are obvious question marks over the keepers, I think Hamman and Hyppia will become squad players rather than first choice. Garcia is also only squad player standard. We therefore need a right winger, centre half, defensive left back and goal keeper........

Everything is obviously doom & gloom at the moment, but things aren't as bad as they seem and I don't agree that we need bucket loads of cash to be able to get up there with the top 3. We may well end up 30 points (prob more) behind Chelsea but we won't be that far off Utd and Arse come May......

UTM , they were my thoughts, more or less, as I sat and watched last night over here.A few names that came to mind were Niemi/Green for GK , Routledge ( pos. pre agreement) and Wayne Bridge (big if there) couldn't think of a CB that would fit the bill but the other 3 would balance us out nicely IMO. My last thought however was were would we get the cash as it appears there is nothing to go around right now!!!
