University research on the role of football in response to military conflict

Recommended Posts

Dear all,

Leading up to the Euro tournament in June this year, I am conducting some research looking at fans’ views towards the role of football in response to military conflict. For those interested in this topic, I have created a short survey that should not take up too much of your time: https://doit.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9zZmrJfShOSBDDw

Participation is completely voluntary, but I would appreciate hearing your thoughts on this topic.

One things for sure, you wouldn’t get me at the olympics or euros this summer.

The olympics because of the heavy security risk and the euros because I can’t think of anything worse than a gang of pissed up flag shaggers lashing chairs over me head while I’m trying to have a quiet pint of German beer.

Been studying for a while this gal/lad. Started with these posts in 2020 asking about sexuality in football. What course could that be?

I heard the Franco-Prussian war of 1870/1871 depleted gold reserves around the continent, and inadvertently led to Everton struggling to pay the rent on Anfield a decade later.

It was the Krasnodurk stadium disaster of 1343 that started it all really. Bloody Tsarists.

You should sign up to Grand Old Team - they've got lots of thoughts on military conflict and it's effects on football.

The Battle of Cathage will never be forgotten over there and how Everton were the ultimate losers from it all.
