The casting director said that they couldn't have Pam Grier as Jody as no one would believe Eric Stoltz would be able to start yelling at her without getting his head smashed in by her.

Violence and gangster with a twist Pulp Fiction and Goodfellas.

I love the way the Wolf is at some party about 7am.

 

Everyone says it was just common sense to sort out the problem but the Wolf had connections to get rid of the body. There's a good deleted scene where the Wolf is talking to Joe about the multiple dead bodies he's helped get shut of.

Watched Godfather 3 Coda and the overriding sense is misery. All the power all the money leaves a man desperate and empty. It does not matter how hard he tried it killed him inside when his daughter was shot. Not sure how it differ from the original cut but great film.

To civilization yes. Jaws is not a shark monster film. It exposes the weakness of a society to the intrusion of an alien. Shark or other. The mayor saying the beaches stay open etc etc is all defeated by an invader.
