We should be so lucky mate -- afraid we are going to get trounced.

Who is “we” in this instance? The republican oligarch attempting to block Sanders’ nomination or the republican oligarch Sanders is going to beat in the general election?

Regular folk.

You have been down this road mate - it is the same ending.

Yes - “better things are not possible”

loud and clear

praying for a republican oligarch to buy the primary for the “regular folk” is some next level shit indeed. Hope that pays off for you

Would be almost hilariously on brand for the DNC to rig the game to enable a republican oligarch to buy the nomination.

It's all working out pretty perfectly for Bernie at the moment though isn't it?

He's got a hardcore support that means he gets 25-30% in most of the state primaries, Elizabeth Warren who is competing on the left side of the party seems to be losing support, so he's probably got first dibs as her voters second choice.

Biden is doing badly and Buttigeig and Klobuchar are also competing in the centrist/right lane and doing ok enough that they're not going to pull out yet.  If Bloomberg manages to buy his way into some reasonable support he's going to be competing for their supporters too.

If the DNC are trying to rig it against Bernie, then they've managed to get an outcome that has created the absolute perfect conditions for him to get the nomination.  And he's not even having to broaden his appeal outside of his young white base.

His “young white” base is a myth. He has by far the broadest, most diverse support of any candidate. Yes the primary may appear to be slightly playing to his favour at the moment, the Iowa result is already decent and might start to look great in the long term, but there’s a fair way to go and plenty of twists and turns to navigate

It doesn't look too well for the Democrats, it will come down to four years older and much less interesting Bernie, who will be 79 by the time of the presidential campaign and seemingly has not broaden his support much beyond 2016 and either Joe Biden or Pete B, one of which is a totally uninspiring old establishment guy and the other is a bland centrist who doesn't look presidential at all and most people have not heard of 6 months ago.

It's maybe a bit simplistic but not a myth really, Clinton beat Bernie in 2016 by having more support from the old, latin and black voters.  And there are plenty of polls out there that show Bernie is a lot more popular with young voters than old.

Obviously could all change once the votes are actually counted.
