Mayweather - McGregor

I've lost a lot of respect for Paulie, but I'm glad he has walked back from some of his bullshit statements about beating his ass, etc. He's still calling McGregor a scumbag, and I don't doubt that after all the disrespect he showed Connor previously, some of it is true.

To be honest having listened to the whole hour, I believe every word he's said. his story seems genuine.

Yeah, it just doesn't tally with the bullshit he has been spewing the last few days. I think this version is closer to the truth, but I still think there's some bruised pride talk in there, and I've no doubt that Connor treated him like a punk. Detractors will say that's cuntish, fans will point to the disrespect he showed McGregor. The whole thing is a dirty washing in public situation. Ugly, and neither of them look very good.

Lots of people believed what he was saying before, and lots will say this is 100%. I think that If he's now saying Connor beat him in the first session, then 7 out of 12 in the rest, the truth is probably somewhere even further than that. I think McGregor probably gave him a bit of a hiding, treated him with disrespect, and he's got a bruised ego. McGregor probably was as cunty as he says, but Paulie was certainly cunty in the ring too. He admitted telling lies too, which I think he likes to do to turn the view around and control the narrative.

What I take away is that Connor is progressing, but needs fights against people like Paulie to improve. Not because Paulie is in peak shape, or even a great fighter, but he knows every trick in the book.

If an out of shape, retired fighter can win 5 of 12, how can McGregor withstand Mayweather.

I personal question whether he did, but let's say he did... I think McGregor has one shot of winning, and that's early with a barrage of punches. Paulie was saying how awkward he was and couldn't figure him out in the first few rounds. I think that's likely in the fight, so McGregor needs to do some serious damage early on. I mean, he's not going to beat him in a boxing match, over 12 rounds, on points.

The win is unlikely, but Mayweather retired two years ago, is 40, and looks a shadow of himself in training. No doubt he still has the natural ability to outclass McGregor, so McGregor will get dirty, in his face, look for big hits. If not, it's Mayweather.

Fair enough. I almost agree with you assesment of his chances. I guess I just think Mayweather will be smart enough to avoid the damage make McGregor blow hard chasing shadows. But if he has any chance it's in the first 3 rounds. I just don't think that chance is very big at all.

Yeah, I tend to agree. I do think that anything can happen in a fight, though, and McGregor is a funny one. Every time in UFC it was 'no chance'. 13 seconds later the opponent is seeing stars. But yeah, it's a small chance, with big gloves, in a different sport, against the greatest defensive boxer around. So it's a tough sell.

My heart wants McGregor to go in and knock him the fuck out. Like totally embarrass him. My head says... erm, no. He has more chance than pure boxing fans give him, but dramatically less chance than most MMA or McGregor fanatics are saying.

Alright, Paulie needs to stop now. He's milking it beyond belief, doing ever radio show and blogger interview going, and saying some new load of bullshit every time. He's now calling the house that the McGregor camp got the sparring partners a 'crack den'. Now, from what I hear he has got them nutritionists, the place is a 6 bed house. Anybody got pictures of this 'run down' shit hole?

In other news, Lomachenko has offered to be his new sparring partner. I wouldn't get in the same country as that cunt, for fear of him hitting me in the side of the head, then instantly being on the other side of my body, hitting my other side of my head. It would be very interesting to see. He uses the same 'hi-tech' training methods as Loma, and if there's somebody he can learn and improve from, it's Loma.

Either Mcgregors chances of a win have improved slightly, because Lomachenko is an unreal boxer, he'll learn a lot.

Or Mcgregor is going to see just how fucked he is, it's one thing giving Paulie a hiding, but once he sees he can't land a punch on Loma he'll see just how hard it's going to be against mayweather.

Learning how far away he is will only help IMO. Finding out in the first 30 seconds of the fight is no use to anyone.

Still has no hope, like.

I've had a fiver on mayweather to win in first round at 25/1.Friends say I may as well have thrown my money down a grid.we will see!

Interesting bet. Quite aggressive. Mayweather doesn't tend to finish people these days but there's a chance he'll want to make a point against McGregor and there's also a chance he'll be able to land at will without risking too much exposure himself.
