Still got no idea what the selectors have seen in Denly to include him at this stage of his career. He's averaging mid 30s in first class cricket and has been thoroughly mediocre for a good ten years now after a promising start.

Yeah, as a top order batsman you should be averaging in the 40's.

Trescothik was only averaging in the twenties when he was selected, but he was younger.

I think they are sticking with Denly because he has a very good technique. TBF, the ball he got him out with today was a peach though.

Could be. Could easily backfire though. Rain forecast for tomorrow so it will be a bit of an on/off day with lots of cloud cover. I wouldn't want to be batting tomorrow.

Yeah, you wouldn't want to bat last on this wicket if you have to chase anything around 250-300 imo. I reckon anywhere near 300 in our first innings could prove to be very good. We are way off that at the moment though. Another Aussie wicket before tea and we might struggle to get 250.
