The CB issue is concerning if it's actually the case that we're not going to sign anyone if we can't get Van Dijk. I'm not sure that's exactly what was said but not signing a CB would be crazy given that all of them, bar Klavan, have had injury issues.  I want another quality CM but I'd be more relaxed about that if we didn't get one, though still not impressed. The CB though, it would be insanity to not sign one.

I thought that the sales of Lucas and Stewart would mean that we were close to signing Keita, but that clearly isn't the case!

It seems pretty clear now that we won't get Keita or VVD, we need to move on to other targets now.

This was the fucking case six weeks ago

Muller is an accident waiting to happen. He's achieved it all and has been talking about a fat pay day for a few years now. He dropped off last season and we shouldn't be trying to sign former top players on their way down. He wouldn't fit into the 433, isn't quick enough or technical enough to displace the wide forwards or Coutinho/Lallana. I wouldn't be playing him up front either.

Muller is basically the only back-up to Lewandowski as a CF at Bayern.

Bayern's main focus for sales are likely to be the older players such as Neuer (31), Ribery (34), Robben (33), and Vidal (30).

They won't want to produce another problem to solve by selling Muller at this point.

We are not worse off!

Salah is a great signing, and Robertson also frees up Milner to add to the midfield! So Lucas is covered in the middle,

So we are worrying about cover at centre-back - Lovren may remain first choice, but I can see cover being brought in.

Robertson is nowhere near proven quality (he may yet prove to be of course) but for now he is very much number 2 at LB i would imagine and as i say a straight swap for Bert Moron.

The centre half situation is frigging pathetic.

There is of course still time but it does not look good

Yeah mate, Robben & Neuer are more likely to be sold than Muller.

This is a pretty good deal though, centre half situation aside. We basically swapped a centre mid who got no time whatsoever last season for a left back who will.

You wait till you've watched him play.

Will play less than Stewart because he's fucking shite.

How much has anyone on here actually seen of Robertson? Enough to write him off? Enough to say he is a bargain?

One season in the premier league - highlights and the odd game. He's shite though. Imagine Liverpool signing Kante two seasons ago, VVD from Celtic, Mahrez, Kieta.

People moan we buy from Southampton, and don't find players ourselves - and those same fans seem to moan when we do buy players like that. Give the lad a chance. He's fast, not a short arse, and doesn't get injured - he looked good against England, and looked good when I have watched him. I'd like to see him a bit more and at our level.

Lallana does have a bit of 'almost' about him, but he impressed me last year. Still rather see Couinho in that role though - particularly at home

Same here; Coutinho looked really good when he dropped deeper towards the end of last season.

Accounting for everyone being fit and and even without any new signings I don't think Lallana will be a starter. Coutinho has to play deeper, maybe with Lallana home against supposed shite occasionally.

I think the opposite. Coutinho deeper against teams we can't beat. Coutinho, lallana and Wijnaldum did the job against Boro last game of the season.

If we don't get Keita id go for another game changer. Another wide forward/Winger.

We have

---------------Hendo/Can

-Wijaldum/Grujic -Lallana/Cou

To fit the the midfield slots. Loose one of Salha or Mane and we are back to Coutinho out wide
