Beer.... Is it medicinal?

I've been ill all week with a bad chest, temperature, vomiting, sweats and aches. I've been the same all day but went the asda and bought a load of ale because the house is empty and I thought the beer would help me sleep better.

I'm on my 7th bottle of Erdinger and have also had 8 bottles of Peroni and I feel great. No vomiting, no temp (I think) my chest feels ok and I've got no aches. Will I suffer badly tomorrow and make myself worse or is beer a cure to illness and should it be prescribed by doctors?

I've now got 12 bottles of Fosters Gold. I'm not a fan of fosters but it's in the fridge and I'm afraid of sobering up.

That shit's pure fucking poison.

However, I'm convinced of the restorative powers of real ale and single-malt whisky (preferably one of Laphroaig, Lagavulin or Ardbeg - all three of them have the most magnificent medicinal aroma).

I have a bottle of Glenlivet 18 yo single malt scotch which someone bought me for my 50th. Thought it was some cheap shit due to the fact i'd never heard of it. Turns out it's quite an expensive drop, so i'lll swig a shit load of that back this evening and see where it takes me.

When I was 17 I kept getting really severe headaches and went to the doctors about it. He said it was due to the stress of exams and shit like that and that I should have a beer before bed to help relax and reduce my stress levels.

At least, he said he was a doctor.
