Did the Fulham fans boo him as he is a former Chelsea player?

I´m a bit worried about him not beeing fired up for games when it isn´t against someone he wants to stop the mouth of. But he was really good today and he´s first goal was everything, touch, right footh finishing, skill, power and came from nowhere and ended in the back of the net, superb!

Maybe he should bite someone and get booed at every ground, that should help.

Daniel Sturridge says fine form down to Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge says his recent good form is down to manager Brendan Rodgers.

The season-ending suspension of Luis Suarez has put Sturridge centre stage, and he responded with his first hat-trick in senior football in the 3-1 win at Fulham.

Sturridge has now scored 11 in 15 games - and five in the last three - and he says he could not be happier with life at Anfield.

"I'm relaxed, I'm enjoying my football and I'm enjoying being out on the football field," Sturridge told Liverpool's website.

"When the manager believes in you and gives you an opportunity, you have to go out there and work as hard as you can.

"If you can do that then hopefully, your ability will shine through. The manager has put me in a position where I'm able to show what I can do.

"I'd like to thank my team-mates, the manager, God and my family. My team-mates have made my job easy to settle with them. I've kept praying every game - which I always do.

"I want to say thank you to all four. Hopefully I'll have a long career ahead of me at Liverpool.

"My family keep me grounded and make sure that I am not going off the rails."

Sturridge was barracked from the terraces at Craven Cottage because he used to play for Fulham's local rivals Chelsea.

And Sturridge admits he enjoyed being the target of the boo-boys: "I love that. I hope the fans do it every game," he said.

"It doesn't really matter what they say to me. I love the banter, it's what I live for. So hopefully they'll keep giving me stick!"

Can Sturridge and Suarez play together effectively with Sturridge as the main striker? It will be interesting to see how Rodgers makes that work.

No

Because Suarez is pretty greedy and does his own thing a lot of the time when in possession

I think they've looked good together so far. When Suarez sat in behind, feeding Dan.

Good old Lawro...

"Danny Sturridge may have matched Demba Ba by scoring on his debut but, for me, Chelsea have got the better deal," writes Lawrenson.

"You know what you are getting with him and I think he is a really good player. I'd take him over Sturridge all day long."

I don't think the Suarez/Sturridge thing is the main issue. It's the fact that Coutinho has become more involved and has played a more central role in the build up without Suarez in the mix. Maybe a kind of diamond formation in midfield and Sturridge and Suarez up front is our best option, which isn't too far off a 4-3-3.

The diamond with Henderson and Gerrard on each side and Lucas as defensive central and Coutinho as attacking central. It would demand a lot from the fullbacks and the midfielders on the sides compared to what we've got now, but in my opinion it could work. Suarez and Sturridge has been much better as a partnership (like against City and Arsenal) than with two wingers and a central striker. One thing is for sure, the 4-2-4 thing Rodgers has tested does not work unless we play inferior sides that park the bus, and not even then it has been optimal in my opinion.

Incredible. That has to be in the top 10 performances from a Liverpool player this season (probably even top 5).

Agreed. He's a far far better, tidier player than i ever thought he was.

He's really surprised me. Amazed we ever got him at that price (given our track record) , and him & Countinho for me are going to be a force to be reckoned with,

Brilliant sequence. Some great footwork in there to fool defenders and I liked the fact he was drawing 3, 4 or 5 defenders to him and STILL keeping the ball to get the pass away.

He's fast becoming great but he might become fantastic for us in time.
