Adam Johnson will be my excuse for not watching this one! I thought he was a great player not so long back, he had some of the creativity that england/and we, need. When he wasn't playing I'd not watch parts of the game in protest. (because it's England, not too much of a fan anyway.)

Johnson was a cool player though, would still love it if we signed him. Still young and maybe has a good career ahead of him.

Brazil are ranked 18th according to Fifa so they are going to be shit. I'm expecting an easy four or five nil England win by the end of the night.

By virtue of them being the host nation of the World Cup, meaning they have no competitive fixtures, which effects their standing.

Drop a bit of, er, a clanger there clangers.

Currently 5th best team in South America according the rankings. The rankings, obviously, are utter shite though.

Smalling, Cleverly, Wellbeck, and even Walcott aren't close to being good enough at this level in my humble opinion.

This Brazil side just seems completely lacking in any sort of coherence, and they no longer have the talent to get away with it.

They'd still have struggled to qualify. Uruguay and Argentina are much better teams. Columbia, Ecuador, and Chile are all pretty good as well.

Whilst the improvement in the Brazilian economy is allowing their teams to keep hold of star plyers from the clutches of european clubs for longer (which is obviously good for local fans) it may be hampeing their national team. All I can say is I hope lucas is not a major member of this team in 2014 as the pressure on this lot will be absolutely gigantic and I'm not sure if they have the ability as a team to win the next World cup.

The vilification the 1950 team suffered for not beating Uruguay in the final may come round agin if Brazil struggle in their group.

Aye.

But just imagine how good they could be if Roy had a few training sessions with them.

That'd be fucking beautiful.

Owl, the arch pragmatist, comes to town to restore Brazilian pride and knock that Fancy Dan Joga Bonito flair out of the daft sods.

Roy 'Well it worked at Malmo'

EDIT: Interesting fact time folks. Stuart Hall, yes he of Savillegate nonce shame, was one of the first attributed users of joga bonito in relation to fitba, just found that out while I was checking spelling, well I never!

Agreed Walcott definitely is. Smalling is certainly a possibility, i think he could be excellent in time, but how Cleverley and Welbeck constantly get picked is beyond me. Cleverley - the amazing young talent that he is - wouldn't even be a regular for Wales IMO, he is fucking shite. Welbeck has played 27 games for the mancs apparently, and has a solitary goal. Apparently this qualifies you to be an England regular.

Edit : A Fuge points out above.

Neymar would be a Last of the Summer Wine fan within a couple of weeks.
