Jon has got to come back. Melisandre worked with the lord of light and he brought someone back from the dead. She went back to the wall after she left stannis. Did she realise that jon is the "choosen" one, not stannis?

I felt like far too much was shoe horned into that epsiode, they spent about 7 episodes padding out the plot and tried to tie it all up in 1, and Cersei scene went on for about 10 minutes, totally unnecessary.

And did Brianne really off Stannis? The way it cut away left it open to interpretation IMO.

Basically, yeah. It's fairly shit production/direction in my view. The bit at the end was crammed in like they forgot they were supposed to film it. They wrapped it, shook hands and kissed arses, then somebody said:

 

"Uh, wait. Did we forget to kill somebody?"

"Hunh?"

"The pretty one everyone likes. Weren't we supposed to kill him?"

"Fuck. Somebody tell Harrington we need him for five more minutes. Cameras!"

 

I'm a very casual viewer and never got the love-in for this one, but that was well below their normal standards. It had no dramatic force at all. Smacks of a team who've bought too deep into their own press, which to be fair happens quite a lot.

I thought that at first but I can't see why there's any plausible reason for her to grant mercy, he knew he'd fucked everything and just wanted to die.

The best series are the ones that you give you a bit of hope mixed in with the pain.

 

This goes too far on the pain and not far enough on the hope.
