They haven't fully covered everything in the last book, probably holding stuff back which is important to the storyline in case martin doesn't release the next book before series 6. Don't worry though Chris, when I've read book 6 (if the fucker ever releases it before I die) I shall PM you with the whole fucking plot.

Nobody is impressed that you read books about pixies and fairies.

The porn versions make good reading I'll have you know.

I am more visually driven.

You do realise there are books with pictures, you probably know them better as wank mags.

I've no issues with anyone reading the books, I'm just glad I no longer have to put up with those dickheads lording it over everyone who prefers to watch the show; casually dropping spoilers here and there and talking how this or that could be better.

Amen, some fucko once said to me 'have you got to the bit where Joffrey chokes yet' about a year before he did.

Cunt.

Never read any of the books, and I only started watching GOT because of you lot raving about how good it was (thanks btw), but I have got to say, John Snow - what a fucking blert.

What a total fucking virgin spastic that bastard is.

Is he really meant to be so fucking thick, or is the guy who plays him genuinely mongy ?

Black Watch knob cheese.

Shame on you.

Unless they're going to stop making TV and films based on books that people enjoy talking about then I very much doubt it's the end of "...in the book".

Obviously spoilers are a different game entirely.

I'm assuming that the original comment was specifically about Game of Thrones books, Stu.

Don't think GoT is particularly special. The same thing happens with loads of other source material that people like and then it is put on screen. Graphic novels like Watchmen, Walking dead, League of extraordinary gentlemen had it. Y: The last man will have it if it's made. World war Z it happened, the Batman films had it, just off the top of my head. Probably loads of other instances of the likes of Stephen King books have it too, just it's less popular and doesn't cross our paths.

People talk about adaptations of source material they like all the time. Usually as it's disappointed them.

Whether they do it to try and prove they are better than someone who hasn't or if they are genuinely wanting to talk about it and someone looking in on their thing has the issue is a whole other case by case conversation.

... Especially books that command the level of nerdery and pedantry that GoT does...

So you think someone has to be a nerd to read GOT's? If so that is utter crap!

Obviously.

People talking about source material isn't going away though. So the dancing may be premature.

I do wish that it was kept in the book thread though. It's not really fair on those who are watching the show, and all tha'.

I'd say most people have put anything which could be classed as a spoiler in tags, the chatter that goes on after an episode has been released is fair enough for me, I just don#t enter the thread until I have watched said episode myself.

No, I don't. There are just lots of them and they're very vocal. Just like everything that's popular from the fantasy, sci-fi or superhero genres.

Each to their own mate, as I have said above, the majority don't post spoilers without tags.

Not talking about knobheads on an internet forum. Stuff happens outside the GF, you know?

Being as you posted in here it makes it pretty hard to distinguish the roots of your complaint unless you mention it mate.
