We desperately need a commanding centre-back: in my view it's as important as getting a second striker in, and maybe more so. I just don't think either Skrtel or Agger are consistently good enough to play for a team with any sort of ambition beyond mid-table mediocrity.

 

Then again, I don't think we ARE a team showing any sort of ambition. From the boardroom down to the manager to the rest of the club.
