Blatantly clear decisions like this shouldn’t be called incorrectly. They didn’t need lines. Just freeze it and let the ref look at the screen if VAR doesn’t work properly and it’s such a blatantly wrong offside decision.

Absolutely. Do they just let players say sorry? Or managers? No, they fine their arses off and suspend them. But they can just say sorry??? They've cost us three points, and not just that - we now have a shattered set of players physically, much more prone to injury, and they will be put under further strain because we'll be missing two of the squad. It's disgraceful. 'Sorry' - nowhere near enough.

Never mind a draw. We'd have won that game if the Diaz goal had stood like it should have done. Spurs scored almost straight after it and it was pretty much the only thing they created in the entire first half. They were absolute shite even against 10 men. They were even absolute shite against 9 men. If they'd gone behind in that game they weren't coming back.

The way I see it, the lino usually keeps their flag down for those, then VAR looks to see if the on-field decision of a goal should be overturned.

 

The VAR probably didn't realise it was given as offside, so when asked if there was any reason to overturn the decision said no. Play starts, bollock dropped. Did that lino keep his flag down for any similar situations in the second half?

You remember the commentator saying how it was 'bizarre' that the screens at the stadium were still showing the VAR graphic for minutes after the 'offside' was confirmed?

There's talk that the check was still ongoing and somehow the ref thought it was complete and restarted the game too soon.

It's fucking ludicrously incompetent but sounds about right when you consider just how quick the 'check' was.
