Only Arsenal can buy a central midfielder for £100m and for him to stay fit and to play well in every game. 

 

Footy's easy when it works out like that. 

 

Arsenal have all the right age profiles for their key players too, a squad full of 22-26 year olds with the odd older one dropped in.  

 

Their rise is no mystery, and they can't plead a case to be underdogs.

Pretty sure anyone else could have bought Rice, a player who has literally never been injured in his life, if they'd ponied up the money.

They bought terribly for years - spunking big money on shite like that Pepe at 70m

 

But over last 2 or 3 years they have bought very well - they as you say have a great age profile in squad too.

 

They remind me (and i said same last season too) of us around 2017/18 - a team on the cusp of potentially big things.
