Virginia Hall, the most decorated civilian of the Second World War whom the Gestapo considered the most dangerous Allied spy alive.
A member of the Special Operations Executive, a master of disguise and all-round badass, she also had an artificial foot she named "Cuthbert."
Legend.

My mum god rest her who wouldn’t have a clue what international woman’s day was but as soon as she’d have heard about it would have booked the afternoon off work and sat in her kitchen caning the white wine, listening to music and sending us all abusive messages calling us peasants

I'd no idea your mam was Princess Margaret mate.

To my arl girl too, she wouldn't have known what today was either, and sadly in her last few years she didn't know much of anything else.

Before that though she was funny, caring, generous, and like a lioness when it came to me and my sister, and her grandkids too.

I was embarrassed when she fought my corner when I was kid, but I was too weak to fight it myself. But now I realise, she was a hell of an asset to have your side.

Miss you mam, rest in peace!

Known for her rallying cry at the Battle of Madrid in November 1936 of !NO PASARÁN!

Forced into exile in 1939 she returned to serve in the Cortes in 1977 as Spain returned to democracy.

Image is her addressing the departing International Brigades in October 1938.

Nichelle Nichols. Sadly recently passed away. A woman of colour on the bridge of a futuristic star ship, every bit the equal of the men and the white men at that. When she considered leaving the role Martin Luther King asked her not to as she was too important. She also shared the first televised interracial kiss (with the Shat, obvs). The racial context of 60s America at the time, it was all unspeakably brave. When interviewed she always seemed a class act too. Live long and prosper Lieutenant.
