They're not going to sell a passing specialist in Neves, especially now that they've bought a top class ball carrier in Nunes who complements him perfectly.

Make them on offer for both of them.

I want a midfielder but beyond Bellingham I'm fucked if I know who it could be who would be available. Maybe the club have the same thoughts

Bellingham is great, but it would feel like putting all our eggs in one basket.

The question is what kind of midfielder we need.  Strong argument that we need another Fabinho but also cover for Thiago, while also needing a Henderson understudy.  Trent could do a job in there for now, and finding a solid RB for now wouldn't cost loads.  Is that Tariq Lamptey still decent?  Failing that, get Matty Cash in, he's solid.

There's two choices; A technical one that can thread passes to the forwards, or someone physical that can win second balls. Both those profiles would help Darwin, which is who our play will be based around mostly. The brute can win the ball after we launch it to Darwin and the technical one can actually launch it to Darwin.

I refuse to believe there aren't better midfield options available anywhere in the world than James Milner, Curtis, Keita, Jones, Henderson, and an 18-year-old Elliot.

The idea that it's Bellingham or bust is bonkers.

I am sure we have a list of other targets but going by what Klopp was saying before the game we don't have money to spend.

It's just an excuse not to spend money.

Bellingham's price seems to go up every week. I read today that it's £124m so no way will they pay that and to be honest he's about £60m overpriced.  Plus the wages he will want will eliminate us from the discussion straight away. It will be another Haaland situation.

So after having no intention of buying him but bleating on about him for 2 seasons the club will then say he's too expensive and that Stefan Bajetic, Carvalho and Elliot are better value.

The only Bellingham we will sign will be his younger brother from Birmingham because he will cost about £7m just like Carvalho and Elliot. Then the usual parrots will release articles saying how clever the club are and that they won't be held to ransom.

I'm not even sure Liverpool have much of a scouting network anymore, they just seem to base their strategy around buying young players off skint championship clubs who can get sold on for a profit if they end up shite.

Is Bellingham great? Honestly I've never seen anything to back that up. I know he's young and rated in the game, but I've seen him enough times to be amazed if he's great because I've never stood out any time I've seen him

Of course there are better players out there. But if we want Bellingham next year, they probably need to be on 2p a week and a transfer fee of some kp dry roasted. And then next year, Bellingham won't be value.

I reckon we'll sign a midfielder before the window shuts, Klopp's comments last night will force their hand.

It's possible I'm kidding myself that there's a glimmer of light on this darkest of days.

You saw what happened last time klopp moaned. It was in Jan 21. They certainly backed him in style then.

So the mancs are now about to get Antony for 70m plus.

Casemiro in too.

I assume the Glazer's are good owners again now

The best they will flock in their thousands to the souvenir shops and buy all the merchandise before realising the Glaziers didn't buy Antony they took another loan out on the club for £100m £70m for Ajax and £30m in dividends for them.

Ismaël Bennacer is the player we should be after, apparently has a €50m release clause as well.

He wouldn't change the problems we have, he looks like he'd just go side to side like Elliott does.

The big difference between our midfield and City's is how KDB can change gears and advance 30 yards and can hit the target or draw defenders and pass.

Wolves just bought the bloke who can do that.  Trent has the ability to do that in midfield.

De bruyne manages as much as he does not only because he's brilliant, but because he's big, he just swats players away. Trent won't be doing that.

There are numerous players that could improve us. Barella and Bellingham would be ideal, with Fab and Hendo being our #6 options for the near term. Buy Barella now and Bellingham next year.

Wirtz has extended to 2027, so that dream has gone. So instead, I'd go for Paqueta. If we weren't owned by cunts, this is what we would do:

  • This summer:
    • Buy Barella for 55m+20m
    • Buy Paqueta for 35m+7m (seemingly what Newcastle have been quoted)
    • Sell Naby if the injury is fake for 20m
  • Next summer
    • Buy Bellingham for 75m+20m
    • Sell Jones for 25m
    • Let Milner and Ox fuck off for free

That would leave us with the following midfield options next year:

  • DM: Fab, Hendo, Thiago
  • LCM: Barella, Thiago, Paqueta
  • RCM: Bellingham, Paqueta, Elliott
  • Loan: (Bajectic, Morton)

The above is no doubt going to be deemed 'fifa', but it's the type of transfer windows every one of our rivals would have in our position. But if we can't get Paqueta, we should at a very minimum be buying Barella and Bellingham.

I typed all this just for us to end up buying Berge for 15m tomorrow.
