Fine, we won't play them, let's twat Leeds without them! But FIFA can seriously fuck right off, beyond ridiculous!

And can you imagine if they banned Richarlison but let our 3 play due to "good relations" with the Brazilian FA? 1,000,004 on the fumeometer!

Letting Richarlison off gives all the other clubs an out. I don’t know at which level the decision will be made, but it would be poor management not to select them and entirely on whoever made that call if we fail to win.

How can one club be exempt due to 'good relations'? Surely a joke? The PL should just issue a directive, fuck FIFA, no PL club sanction will be applied.

Agreed.

How can FIFA think it’s above Government legislative?

Suppose we can write off them playing at Watford and Arsenal as well.

Get on the phone to Utd, City, Chelsea and Leeds and agree to just play them.

Was about to say the same thing.

The FA or Premiership would have to agree it as well, but really, they should be fighting our corner.

I see some of the Central American and a few other South American countries have invoked the same rule, but these are obviously the most high profile players.

I bet the FA or whoever cave to FIFA though, they won’t want to upset them ahead of any future failed World Cup bids.

The Premier League backed the decision by the clubs. Unless they want to be replaced before the calendar year is out, the likes of FIFA and the FA are completely powerless if the Premier League and its clubs stick together.

Didn’t realise the Premiership backed the clubs.

Yes, they should be telling them to fuck off.

City will be missing Ederson and Zack Steffen if the FIFA ruling is enforced, meaning Scott Carson will likely need to start for them in their game against Leicester. Zack Steffen tested positive for covid while on international duty - shock, horror.

Can't see that going down well with the baldy one and his bosses.

I'd expect significant pushback from the affected clubs, and it to be supported by the Premier League, as the Premier League (reluctantly) backed the stance taken by the clubs in the first instance - Obviously won't work out like that as those in power have weaker backbones than jellyfish...

There's also the fact that "the FCDO advises against all but essential travel to the whole of Brazil based on the current assessment of COVID-19 risks" - so the PL clubs have actually been following their relevant government advice. If FIFA uphold this, they're effectively saying that clubs - and players - should ignore health and government advice.

It's completely untenable and they'll rightly be told to fuck off.

Don’t the Brazilian quarantine rules which caused all that aggro the other night mean they couldn’t have played anyway?

No. Brazilian passport holders who fly in from countries on their ‘red list’ don’t have to quarantine when entering Brazil.

But non Brazilian nationals do.
