The weakest group I reckon having randomised the whole list (only 1 of these got over 5 votes and that was only 6). Still some great movies.

Star Wars and The Warriors for me. Deer Hunter just missing out.

If that is the weakest group in the 70s, 80s have no chance.

The Warriors and Assault on Precinct are personal favourites, along with Dear Hunter which hit the full chamber here and lost out. The rest are classics or very good, A Bridge Too Far the only imposter here for me.

A really strong group, in my opinion.

I’ve been watching Star Wars since I was a boy, so that gets my first vote. I very nearly nominated All the President’s Men, but it’s a toss up between Mean Streets and The Deer Hunter for my second vote. The Deer Hunter. Just.

Star Wars is winning? Fuck me! I hope no other supporters are reading this forum or they will think we are all nerds. 'Once we were Casuals, now we wear fur lined Parkas and Duffel coats our Mams bought us.'

Parkas are sound, as are duffle coats.

Parkas & duffle coats are better than anything the casuals wore.

I think Mean Streets os good but its not 'great'. Far better films in that genre.

It's the daddy of those films though, Scorsese kicked the doors in with that one, as did DeNiro.

The fact that the gangsters in it are so pathetic all adds to the charm. It's one I never tire of watching.

I like it but its not one I go back too. It's definitely not the 'daddy' unless you're on about age. It did open the doors for the following absolute belters to be fair. Wait till you hear me call Serpico overrated. (and I do like it but...)

Clearly I'm on about age. Children are generally younger than their Dad.
