I don't believe so. Pretty sure it was just a starting point to make sure that the initial draft had balance.

Didn't notice @Mr Holliday swap somebody else out for some reason I thought Martinez was a defender.

 

There has to be some sort of jeopardy to it not just binning of somebody who'll never play for somebody far better.

I was just following the precedent set further up the draft chain. It also fell within the age limit (which is a new addition not mentioned at the outset of the game ..).

The age rule has been in place since the first transfer window.

Loans can happen, people from the database not selected can be chosen, though they need to be exchanged for one of your players and there can not be more than a five year age gap.

As we have taken the vast majority of the best players out of the game it's pretty slim pickings, but position should be, roughly, the same, but age should be within five years, so people aren't just using good players until they die and then getting something new and shiney. I doubt there'll be much movement like this.
