OK... I'll admit that what you consider sexy is in the hog's-eye of the beholder, but you're in a definite minority round here, getting a chubby on over a bloke in a wig and dress.

At least we’ve agreed they are blokes in dresses. There’s hope for you yet, but funny all the same.

Yes. Drag queens are blokes in dresses. Literally nobody has ever pretended otherwise, you mad depraved loon.

Oops.

Don’t assume that someone in drag is transgender, or vice versa. Just as the vast majority of the general population does not do drag, most transgender people also are not drag performers. It can be hurtful to refer to a transgender person’s presentation as drag, because it suggests that their deeply held identity is just a show they are putting on—which is untrue.

Being respectful of a drag performer’s gender is the same as being respectful of anyone else’s gender. If you’re not sure, for example, of which pronouns to use when referring to someone, just ask.

Planned concerts in Poland by Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters have been cancelled amid outrage over the musician's stance on the Ukraine war.

The concert's promoter, Live Nation Poland, confirmed the cancellation but gave no reason for it.

The controversy was triggered by an open letter Waters wrote to Ukraine's first lady, Olena Zelenska.

In it, he said, "extreme nationalists" in Ukraine "have set your country on the path to this disastrous war".

He accused her husband, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, of failing to fulfil his election campaign promises to bring peace to the Donbas region and and made no mention of Russia's responsibility for the war.

In response, Mrs Zelenska wrote on Twitter that it was Russia which invaded Ukraine and was now destroying its cities and killing civilians. "Roger Waters, you should ask for peace from the president of another country," she wrote.

Mr Water's open letter led Łukasz Wantuch, a Krakow city councillor, to urge people to boycott the concerts.

City councillors have drafted a resolution to declare Mr Waters persona non grata, due to be voted on at a session on September 28.

"Taking into account Russia's criminal attack on Ukraine as well as the increasing number of war crimes committed by Russian soldiers that are coming to light, [the councillors] express outrage at the theses and statements made by Mr Roger Waters in connection with Russia's invasion of Ukraine," the resolution states.

Mr Waters, currently on tour in the US, hit back in another Facebook post entitled "Hey Łukasz Wantuch, Leave them kids alone", referencing the lyrics of the classic Pink Floyd song, Another Brick in the Wall.

He denied an earlier media report that he or his management had cancelled the concerts themselves and accused Mr Wantuch of the "draconian censoring" of his work.

Asked whether the cancellation was connected to Mr Waters' comments, a venue spokesman for the Tauron Arena in Krakow told the BBC: "No comment."

The Polish government has been a staunch ally of Mr Zelensky. It has sent hundreds of Soviet-era tanks and other armaments to Ukraine and encouraged the European Union to introduce tougher sanctions against Russia.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in February, the government decided to open Poland's borders to millions of Ukrainian women and children fleeing the fighting.

According to the United Nations' Refugee Agency, UNHCR, close to 1.4 million Ukrainians have registered for temporary protection in neighbouring Poland.

Hundreds of thousands of refugees have been put up by Poles in their own homes.

I see they fail to report the open letter Waters put to Putin asking him to stop the war.

It wasn't necessarily what Waters said last week that caused a backlash, it was more what he didn't say.  He spoke about the hypocrisy of the west etc, and yet didn't choose to use his platform to even acknowledge, never mind condemn what Putin was doing, didn't he?  Do you think what he omitted to say was deliberate, Skids?

To say nothing of telling other artists where they can’t play, telling other artists he’s more important than them (imagine the breathtaking level of narcissism it takes to say something like that) demanded PF be wrapped up because he decided to walk. Fella is a fucking huge one.

The man in the shiny pink suit is talking some sense here.

"It's free speech, but it's not consequence-free."

Not really.  He completely ignores the point that she makes that JKR gets horrendous abuse for what is a mainstream view.   Just glosses over it completely.

I think the implication is that nobody should be giving her abuse for her views on trans issues, just as nobody should be putting her on a pedestal for them. It makes no sense to attach that much weight to someone's inexpert views, just because they're famous. (And, of course, he's aware of the irony that he only has a platform to air that view, because he is famous.)

It's nonsense to say there's no such thing as cancel culture. There's authors actually going back and changing published books to appease mobs, rather than simply say 'well don't buy the book?'

It's not enough to disagree any more, the person you don't agree with has to pay a visible and sizeable penance for writing,  saying, or joking about something you don't agree with - or pretend you don't agree with, just for attention.

Like Dickens did?  He changed a fair bit of his description of Fagin after the first edition of Oliver Twist was criticised for being too anti-Semitic. You'd be hard-pushed to argue that his career or reputation was harmed by caving in to the Victorian woke mob that way.

Ask James Dreyfus. He played The Master on the Dr Who audio books but his name and appearances were removed and he wasn’t invited to any events. For the crime of supporting JKR. So the consequences to him were pretty dire all for what is acknowledged as a main stream view protected in law.

He's not the first to do that. The state of these cunts!

That does nothing to deter from my point about Rodgers who has a vast history of being a fucking huge one, and for the record I believe it’s up to the individual and their conscience to decide where they will and won’t play.

His name and appearances were removed? Really?
