Aren't the Ukranian press reporting that this isn't done.

It's a done deal now. That is 3 high profile players that have gone to China in a short space of time. Money talks as per usual, it can't be for footballing reasons as far as furthering your career goes. Ramires 28, Martinez 29 and now Teixera 26 yo.

More big names are apparently in the pipeline. Hopefully Crapotelli and Shitteke are on their radar.

Bet your arse Terry will be off to China in the summer if they offer more than the MLS. China trying to outdo the USA as far as football knackers yard/money grabbers go.

I think they'll have to relax (or get rid of entirely) the rules about a certain number of Chinese players on the pitch at any one time or it will look really strange.

What I mean is, have you ever seen old footage of George Best or Pele playing in the American NASL several decades ago?  It's bizarre.  And sure, it makes for a good highlight now and again to see a great player past his peak slaloming through a bunch of players who are nowhere near his level and sticking it in the net, at least every once in a while.

But it doesn't work for long as a footballing spectacle.  You can only watch for 10 minutes or so before it just feels like an exercise in humiliating a bunch of lads who couldn't get a game in Kazakhstan but they have to try to mark Cruyff (who was there at age 32, not even over the hill!).

What I mean is that this might work in 10 or 15 years when the Chinese have built up a supply of decent players to fit in alongside the high-priced foreign stars, but it's going to be odd in the meantime while they have to have 6 or 7 terrible Chinese players in every team that Teixeira faces.

Chinese Super League champions Jiangsu FC - who have the same owners as Inter Milan - have "ceased operations", the club said on Sunday.

Owners Suning said they were closing down the club to focus on its core retail business in the country.

Jiangsu won their first league title in November 2020.

It is the club Teixeirea plays for.

Cheeky?
