How do I update Kodi on My Fire Stick ?

As Above. I've had the fire stick for about three months now. An ex colleague put Kodi on it but it's no longer working as it used to and for some reason Genesis has now gone. Can one of you kind souls please give me some EASY TO UNDERSTAND instruction please.

OK, I need to rephrase that. It now needs to be, how do I install Kodi on my fire stick in EASY TO UNDERSTAND instruction, as I've now managed to delete the version that used to be there.

No idea about the firestick itself but do you still have access to all the menus like System>Add ons>FileManager etcetera?

Also can you plug the firestick into a laptop or pc and access it that way?

No. Anything related to Kodi is gone. I need to do it from scratch.

The one that Furmedge posted has a one-click install on it. It looks like you just download it, run it and it does everything for you.

Cheers mate but I've spent the majority of last night and today watching youtube vids. I can get so far then I hit problems. One of them being my anti virus is quarantining one of the downloads because of a trojan virus risk. Another is I don't seem to be able to unzip files.

You dont usually have to unzip the files,kodi does it automatically,or so it seems.

I'm buying one of these Amazon Fire devices with kodi built into it - is it safe? ( not buying from Amazon but a bloke from gumtree who has it preinstalled )

I have mine through the fire tv which I loaded myself. Runs fine.

Seems as though the firestick is simply Chromecast with memory built in?

It's more like a smartphone without a screen in a stick. That you can't make calls with.
