Very good point. Showed great cohesion and fluidity in the first half. Showed great character and resilience in the 2nd half. All things we were missing last season.

It wasn't a lack of effort or energy, it was a lack of football intelligence. It was no different in the first half. He's an excellent player on the ball, physically and technically, but his lack of intelligent runs makes it difficult for players like Coutinho.

I don't mind playing like Stoke away to the big clubs, Mourinho does it to much acclaim.   It's brutal to watch but who the fuck cares, the result is all that matters.

 

Go out next week and take the three points against West Ham & we've had a fucking fantastic start to the season.

Once we get a bit more fluidity in our attacking play as long as we carry on being those other things we might be alright.

Reads the game very well. Few of those interceptions in the last 10/15 minutes were extremely impressive for an 18 year old.

I know what you mean and very little thought goes into playing others in but we knew what we were buying and he does what it says on the tin
