It’s all built on Klopp a once in a generation genius who makes it work,  once he goes it will collapse.

Klopp is the difference maker, you're right. You can't play by the rules and consistently compete in football without someone like him, but that isn't the fault of the owners, that's football's fault.

It would be nice at some point though, if people recognized the partnership Klopp and the owners have fostered. As long as they're both here, both parties deserve credit.

Diaz, who was initially a summer target and Nunez, are probably the replacements for Sadio and Mo and were just brought in early.

With no AFCON this season, Carvalho probably is enough to cover the Taki and Origi's places in the squad.

The medical team did a very good job in the 2nd half of the season so hopefully that continues, but I've said it before on here, there are few clubs in the history of the sport that has a 2nd eleven as good as this.

Kelleher

Milner Konate Gomez Tsimikas

Elliot Keita Jones

Carvalho Firmino Jota

with youngster and Ox also available.

I agree with most that we need a younger, dynamic and robust midfielder but we aren't in a bad place at all.

To be honest I haven't got a fucking clue what you point is if your two examples are the first two mega rich clubs who had endless resources.

My point is that we won’t spend what it takes to compete with them, we rely on Klopp. Once he goes it will collapse, agree, don’t agree, I couldn’t give two sloppy farts to be honest with you.

Whatever they spend will be levied by what they recoup in sales. We always go into a season light and rely on Klopps genius to get us through. Once Klopp goes we will collapse.

We had the best squad depth in the world last season IMO. Chelsea and City went into last season ‘light’er than we we did,

I disagree. It looks clear that Klopp is making sure that won't happen. He's fixing to leave a top quality squad who still have a few years left in them. His successor is going to inherit some proper talent.

I think it’s correct though. City didn’t have a proper striker or a natural LB last season for example.

Fuck are you on about?

Zinchenko is a left back.

Jesus is a striker

Yeah, having oil billionaires who can just spend and spend no matter how many mistakes are made is quite a cover for a manager not being a genius. I totally accept that having owners like City or PSG, who will pull any trick, do anything no matter how low, to make the books balance whilst spending billions of their ill-gotten gains would be 'better' for our prospects of winning than FSG. That's it though, otherwise we probably have the best owners around.

Zinchenko is a natural CM, plays there for Ukraine.

Fair call on Jesus, well kind of… Pep barely played him there, only started 8 league games as a striker out of possible 34 games.

The age profile of the players he's signing now - Konaté, Nuñez, Elliott, Carvalho, etc. - suggests that they'll be at their peak under Klopp's successor. If he was signing a load of 27 year-old, I'd be concerned.

That's assuming the talent of the players is the main driver of success. I don't think it is. Someone could have taken over from Fergie in the late 2000's and still taken Man U into the toilet. A number of our players put in the wrong system don't amount to anything. If Salah doesn't join Klopp when he did for example, I don't think he ever turns into a world class goal scoring genius. He's still a very good player as he was his last season for Roma, but he never goes up a level. I think the same could be said for most of the players in our squad. You drop them into a situation where the manager is greatly inferior (Man U a good example) and they probably look dead average.

Quote

“I spoke with the Brazil coach about Gabriel Jesus not that long ago and he said that after the World Cup he called over Gabriel Jesus and asked him, ‘Where do you want to play?’

“Gabriel Jesus said, ‘I don’t mind’, but the coach said, ‘Obviously you mind, you obviously have a preference, what is your preference?’

“And somewhat sheepishly Gabriel Jesus said he’d rather play out wide. This is important for whoever is going to buy him.
