Add De Bruyne or peak Thomas Muller and play him in front of Thiago and Fabinho and we would’ve won the quadruple. We already have one of the best defensive midfielders in the world in Fabinho and he’s quicker and more athletic than City’s defensive midfielder, Rodri. Last time I checked they they’re not having issues winning league titles.

No we wouldnt

Take De Bruyne out of City and put him in our midfield? We definitely win the league, silly to suggest otherwise.

We were favorites to win the CL as it was.

Unless he would have prevented us from throwing away the leads I highlighted then, no he wouldn't.

Mate - you are way off. Taking De Bruyne out of City's team and adding him to ours and you are worried about us??

FFS man.

It's not a good comparison is it? Because it's completely unrealistic to expect us to buy a player from our direct rivals, especially City, and put them in our team.

We were talking about players that would improve us, not weaken City as well.

Also, didn't De Bruyne play for City against Spurs at home and against Madrid over two legs. Did they win those games?

The league was really lost because of the games we lost from winning positions. De Bruyne is proof that those players can only do so much.

Finally, for the 400th time, if the club felt that that type of player was the answer they would have played one in the 2nd half of the season and not look to spend £70m on a defensive midfielder would they?

Dude - it's Kevin De Bruyne.

You are a madman.

Why don't we take Bernardo Silva, Foden and Haaland off them as well if we are in the land of make believe. Stick them on our bench, makes us stronger and weakens them too.

Doesn't solve our weaknesses but will ensure that the only team likely to compete with us is nowhere near us. Dead easy this

Cuz I don't like any of them.

Reckon you should get onto the club and tell them they are wasting their time looking to bring in a Tchouameni style player and should bring in a Kevin De Bruyne style player or if they are really serious Kevin De Bruyne himself instead to solve our weaknesses. Clearly they are completely clueless with the strategy they are currently pursuing.

More than the Mancs are getting and more than Barcelona were getting from Rakuten (they’ve since done a new deal with Spotify but that includes sponsorship of the stadium so isn’t comparable).

Not a surprise that we've renewed with SC. Upon completion of this extension, it will still be a year short of Carlsberg's tenure as main sponsor. Looks like the alternatives were basically cryptocurrency or tech blaggers trying to raise their profile by pretending to offer big money that they don't have. With SC there is more stability.

Shirt deal with Standard Chartered renewed for 4 years worth £50m+ per year.

Hopefully in the region of £55m-£60m and other companies were more than interested. Guess the real figure will be revealled in the accounts when the new deal kicks in.

The club is also supposedly looking for around £15m or better for the sleeve deal with Expedia when that expires.

But while the PL has allowed chelsea's new owner to dive in with a £200m summer transfer budget no questions asked and newcastle splashing the cash, even these amounts pale into virtual insignificance.

Hopefully towards the £60m mark as it is bonus related beyond the £50m. Not what the club mouthpieces were saying near the end of last season when they said they were looking for £70m-£80m.

Just need some blag cryptocurrency partners where John Henry's mates work like Man City do and Newcastle will suddenly have access to.

The Expedia deal expires at the end of the coming season, we came out of the WU deal two years early as we were getting paid £5m then doubled the money to £10m with Expedia.

I might have missed it but has there been any significant increase in revenue since we've been with Nike as opposed to New Balance?

I think the Nike figures will be in the next set of accounts which are expected to be published around Feb \ March 2023.

Not trying to defend Chelsea but did their transfer ban give them a bit of Leeway to blow some cash.

Rumours are City have another big deal in them as well. They do seem to be open to letting a few of their players go and it doesn't feel that is because they want to balance the books. Not that it matters to them if they do or don't. As long as they keep their lawyers on retainer they will be sweet whatever.

No. This sale \ purchase was conditional on the new owner committing an additional billion quid towards ground development with £200m of that solely for team rebuilding.

Fwank went on a separate spending fee part funded by the transfer ban ending and no doubt Abramovich lending them some cash under his dodgey accounting practices.
