This is nothing unusual,it's commonplace and has been for years. Pulis,Allardyce et al have made an entire managerial career as 'firefighters.' A club estimates about say 100m or so per season for being in the PL so a couple of million for keeping them there is considered good business. It may be paid in one go or installments but it's nothing out of the ordinary.

To compound this, one of the talking heads on the programme, with his own hair and face and no shame, is Jermaine Pennant.
