Also, did anyone know that Carl Medjani has been included in the Algeria squad. He's yet to be capped for them though.

Notice how we have some players from some of the best teams in the competition, some of those players regularly play for those countries as well.

 

Gerrard, Johnson, Torres, Kuyt, Mascherano, Maxi. Babel often plays for Holland as well, until recently.

 

I seriously wonder how many of them will still be here next season.

 

I can't wait for the world cup to start. Something to keep my mind of our shambles for a month (aye right).

Not a bad little line-up to be had from that lot. Could play a 4-1-3-2 formation, with Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel and Agger across the back four in front of Reina; Mascherano in the holding role; an attacking midfield trio of Maxi, Gerrard and Babel; with Kuyt and Torres up front. Kyrgiakos would be on the bench. Just shows that the other players in our squad either play for a country that never made it, or haven't shown enough to be selected. Still, in terms of numbers, it's pretty strong.

This is an appalling stat and our team next season will be knackered. If gerrard is Capt. he'll play every friggin' game including finals if we make it....we can write him off next season just like we did after the last world cup...however if he returns home to Stamford Bridge I will take great delight in ribbing him as he stumbles and huffs around the pitch like an old man.
