No thread on this?

Anyway, the my personal role model and hero John Daly is -2.

3 shots up on famed South Asian golfer Eldrick Woods.

Have to say that Daly is looking better now that he's got a gastric band but the pants, oh dear, the pants have to go.

As our esteemed skip would say, 'He's no Payne Stewart'

Before 'the pants'

And now with the pants.

Disappointed with Harrington and McIlroy's rounds. Today was the chance to put in a good round and finish at 5 or 6 under. I'm sure they will both be hoping for some window conditions tomorrow.

Anyone catch Jimenez's interview after when he was about to spark up a big cigar? Could hardly understand a word that he said.

John Daly is a legend. I bet he's playing his guitar, singing, drinking and smoking right now, preparing for tomorrows round.

I know what NP htinks of Tiger Woods by the way, but what a player he is. Bad round today I know, but I just love watching him play. He does stuff no one else does, and for a person playing this game it's a joy to behold.

I really have a good feeling about Daly nowadays by the way; he's made a promise to himself that it's now or never, and he is really going for it career wise. I hope he sort things out now and stop ruining his massive talent (and his life...). No one has more feel for the short game than he has, maybe bar Michelson.

You've got to love Daly spends his money on drink, women and gambling. Its what we'd all do in the same situation.

Live not far from Turnberry so going to head down Saturday, another day like today would be good.

I can appreciate Woods' immense talent but he is excruciatingly boring. He's been managed since he 3 years old for this and I don't think he could ever open up in a real interview. It does make for good viewing at the majors when he's in contention.

If Daly can stay away from the riverboat casino's he'll be OK. I reckon that gastric band limits the amount of Miller Lites and Jack and Cokes he can get down his gullet.

I agree his interviews are boring, but I always look to defend him since I'm in a way a fan, so I blame it on him getting the same questions 100 times a day. You can't be original in the long run with the amount of media preasure he gets. He also have to be careful what he says, what he signs, who he talks too, etc. If he put a foot or a word wrong he will get all sorts of problems. He did ask Feherty once though; "what do you call a black man flying a plane?". Feherty said I don't know, and Tiger then said "a pilot, you fucking racist". That's pretty much as controversial Tiger Woods will ever get.

That's funny.

Russel Peters, when told that he had broken into the Top 10 Forbes list of comedians, said,

"I'd like to say I shit myself but when I found out I was on the laptop sitting on the toilet"

Signs that apocolaypse are near is that Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the Cable Guy are also on the list of top grossing comics.

And how many golf courses are their in Norway?

I imagine loads of golf balls go over the fjord cliffs.

We have a few. I live in Stavanger now and have four 18 hole courses within 15 minute drive, and another 3-4 9 holes too. Two of them are really good aswell. I used to live in Oslo and I had about 15 18 hole courses within an hour drive. The main challenge is the short season though. I can play pretty much all year in Stavanger but it's not very tempting playing in 5 degrees in the winter so it's April-October in reality. I don't know how many golf courses there are in total in Norway but my guess would be something inbetween 70-100 18 holes, and maybe half that 9 holes.

Good to see all the old bastards doing well. Watson, Jiminez, Daly, Furyk, Goosen, Singh, Cink, Stricker, O'Meara, Calcavecchia all up near the top of the leaderboard - it's like a who's-who of 1990s golfers there.

My man Harrington struggling but should make the cut.

Unless he plays the last 6 holes in at least -1 he will more than likely miss the cut which is currently projected at +2 but should move out to +3

Was there today, it was some day. Weather seemed to be pretty good for golfing compared to normal. Wind was pretty strong in the afternoo though.

Good to see Watson still going strong, watched Fisher for a while he looked good too, hopefully either of them win it.

Just back from spending the last 2 days down there. Camped last night with 6 mates and it was great craic. Really enjoyed the golf today and found some right good perches to base ourselves and say pretty much everyone. A fine day out. However, £55 in each day is very bloody steep.

Fuck me, 55 nicker, is that how much it is now? I remember going to Birkdale the year O'Meara won it, 98 was it? It was only a tenner in then.
