Steve Coppell has said they will come to Anfield to attack as they are expected to lose anyways so anything is a bonus. If they do come and attack then the space they will leave at the back will allow Torres to score twelvty goals.

I think Kuyt is playing well out on the right and delivers a far more dangerous cross then Pennant.

 

Pennant is good at taking on the full back and getting a cross in but more often then not its a floated cross which either the keeper comes out to collect or a defender clears.

 

Kuyt when he crosses whips the ball in and this is far more dangerous to defend against. The keeper darent come out for it and any Liverpool player attacking it does not need to apply the power themselves as its already there.

Agreed. Kuyt is not a great player, but I think we're utilising his strengths to max effect where he plays now. He's a lot better retaining the ball than Pennant, and many times it leads to chances.

It does my head in when Pennant chooses to float the cross in all the time.

 

A fine example of the advantage of having Kuyt out there is the first goal Torres scored against West Ham at Anfield a couple of weeks ago. Ball on the right whipped in and Torres volleys it in.

 

Pennant would have tried floating the cross over for Torres to head in.

I could well believe that he doesn't have the strength behind him to whip crosses in.
