Im looking to book a holiday with the missus to Cuba and am about to book for mid May for 2 weeks.Just had a thought thought that this would coincide with the Champions League final.

Im worried now that we could get to the final and Im gonna be in Cuba when it happens.

Do I stick to my plans thinkin we prob wont get there anyway,or do I lie to my girlfriend and say they are expecting hurricanes in May and go in June with the hope that we do get to the final

I was thinking about this myself the other day. I've booked my holiday for November so obviously it's not gonna be a problem, but I was thinking whether I should start putting some money aside for Moscow, but then I decided against.

Firstly, because I would be staggered if we reached the final again, considering the season we're having, and also because for some reason I just don't fancy Moscow.

What you want to do is try and persuade her to become a revolutionary. That way, you can espouse socialist doctrine and attempt to coax her into a cultural visit to Red Square on the day of the Champions League final, prior to taking the visit to Comrade Castro. Promote a whirlwind tour of cultural relevance in a socialist context.

Its just the thought of watchin the match in a dodgy bar full of Italians/Spanish/French/German etc with foreign commentary, when I should be with all me mates. My bird doesnt give a shit about football and would probably be reading heat oblivious to it all.

I wouldnt want a the fantastic experience of a CL final ruined by this

Probably gettin a bit ahead of my self, especially on current form anyway !

Was thinking about that myself. It going to cost a bomb getting over there and when over there I cant see it being that good. Companies like Flight options will rake it in once again as there is no cheap and easy way to get there once the odd cheap flights/route has gone. I know they are in the competition etc but its a silly place to have the final. Just like Rome next year. WHY? Shitehole ground and a place where it regularly goes off?

The bizzies and the locals will not be the most welcoming IMO in Moscow. Could all go off.

I have been thinking of jibbing it if we get there esp having just put a load of wedge into getting and doing up a house. Part of me just thinks "its a european cup final FFS, beg borrow or steal to get there" - but after two so soon, the need isnt as great.

I booked a holiday in 2004 - a round the world trip starting the following April and finishing in June, I had absolutely no faith in Liverpool getting to the last 16 never mind the CL Final. Basically I missed the semi final against Chelsea because I was in Japan then spent the next 3 weeks annoying my bird asking her if she reckoned we would beat AC Milan. I watched the Final at 4am in my hotel in Melbourne, the satellite coverage was awful and the commentary was 3 seconds ahead of the pictures so i knew who had missed and scored etc. The coverage of the trophy presentation was useless as it went back to a studio with a few z-list aussie pundits going on about how great it was that Harry Kewell had followed in the footsteps of Craig Johnston by winning the CL with Liverpool. Not putting yu off or anything........

2005 - We'd been knocked out the cup by Burnley, we had no chance of the league...and we were never gonna win the European Cup, were we?

Booked a fortnight in Florida for the last 2 weeks in May...cue a frantic search to find somewhere to watch the final, after we had beat Chelsea in the semi...The Cricketers Arms, International Drive, Orlando...happy days.

Book it in May. We aren't going to the CL final this year. Trust me.
