Picked up some of their material last year (may have passed some on to Mr Monty) but I never gave it much of an airing as there was so much other stuff being released.

A mistake on my part, I've started hearing Made Up Love Song on the radio and it's a top pop song - if a tad reminiscent of some 80s bands.

A band worth checking out. Think they're fron New Orleans.

You did indeed Mr C and I was quite impressed with them. Thought the Crimea stuff was good too; especially Baby Boom (very dark subject matter though).

I've been doing a bit of musical wandering today. Downloaded a load of Jim Noir's stuff, with Ennie Meanie and My patch being the standout tracks, and also some stuff by the Pippettes. I reckon the Pippettes are very much a novelty act though, a bit samey really.

You heard anything of that album that Mark Lonergan did with Isobell Campbell from Belle & Sebastian; the bits I've heard I like and I think it's going to get ordered today.

Yep, you've just jogged my memory, got material from both at the same time and it's The Crimea from Orleans.

Any thoughts on this Stu; The Trudy: Oh

Has summer indie/pop written all over it.

Not a bad tune that C, just had another listen after leaving it for a bit; Quite radio friendly isn't it. Her voice actually reminds me a little bit of the lead singer of Frente. Not sure if you've heard of them but they are an Aussie band Mark & Lard used to play a lot who did a stunning cover of New Order's Bizarre love triangle.

Got the Crimea CD over the weekend and although I've only given it one quick listen it sounds like they have made it a bit softer in the production which is not a particularly good thing.
