Outstanding from Soccer Guy on fb:

Alexander Hey Arnold’s real sweet one-bounce no-bounce kick hands the Liver Pool Red Uniforms the victory points in a dramatic game of soccer drama against Full Ham up on Mercy Town. The former EPL League world champions looked on course do go score a bunch of goalshots when McCallister was left home alone in the middle of the soccer field and unleashed a cleat rocket just before the halftime show. But the franchise who plays out of some real cute cottage’s back yard knotted things up at twos. Liver Pool kinda sucked in the second quarter and looked like they were heading to the L when some guy from Full Ham inserted the head kick real late on. But the meat loving London England franchise could not hang on. After making the equalization play, Hey Arnold made it 4 to 3. Kinda like a football score from football head. You Never Walk Away, sung the cops real loud.

 That’s super-accurate.

In what way?

He's not a better crosser of the ball than Robbo. He isn't anywhere as streetwise as him either. Robbo is quite vocal and had great leadership qualities. Tsimikas can let mistakes get to him which in turn drop his concentration levels. He's about on par with Robbo when judging his positional sense. He's better with his right foot though, I'd give him that. If I had to rate them both out of 10 it would be 7/10 for Andy, 6/10 for Tsimikas. I don't think there's many "back up" fullbacks like him about, so we're blessed in that sense.

Spare the thought "Dickheads!" for them.

Shame. If only they followed a team led by a manager who has specialised in brilliant late turnarounds in matches.

I'll personally never understand the logic of those who do the early dart thing. You really don't save anything worthwhile by doing it IMO and can miss so much.

I have always been of view that taking time/hanging back even and letting "traffic" clear whether driving or going for a bus or even walking actually works better..and you don't miss any of the game inc late dramatic wins like today.

Absolutely right. Some people have an absurd expectation about a back-up player - they seem amazed if they're not as good or better than the first choice. If they were as good or better than the first choice, they'd either be gone already or on their way out to another club on a bigger wage. Add to that the lack of rhythm, and that's what you get, and what you always get, outside of dreams.

"You need to get it on target."

Wonderful insight.

That, together with, ‘a corner has to beat the first man’ are the two worst takes in football. Risk and reward - aim for the middle of the goal and get it saved, or go for the corner? Whip it in at pace and maybe get it cleared at the near post, or loft it pace off onto the penalty spot where the grocks dwell…

I think he's a much better crosser than Robbo.  He's also a much better corner taker.  Robbo is naive and often caught miles out of position - you see far less of that from Tsimikas.  Robbo turns his back on the ball when players are crossing, which often means he doesn't block crosses that he should.  And of course Tsimikas has far more options when going forward, as he can kick with both feet.  But apart from that, I completely agree with everything you've said there.
