Then it's safe to say that removing an arbitrary 60 million and dividing by 30 doesn't give you that figure.

You won't get the figure you're looking for because the accounts are for 'The Liverpool Football Club and Athletic Grounds Limited' not the first team even though it's fun for articles to disassociate any other staff from the club when writing about things like wage bills.

You can use SportsTrac or TransferMarkt but they're usually made up/best guess and tend not to include bonuses let alone the basic being accurate.

OK, so, what do you think the approximate spending on the 30 is and does it look high to you, compared to other clubs and considering the overall quoted wage bill?

Spotrac have our salaries at less than half the number on the accounts at 158m. The estimates for each player don't look too unreasonable. Which suggests either we include some mad shit in our numbers (such as agent fees) or we're paying our players double or their bonus can double the estamted weekly salary. Which also seems a hard one to believe. But we'll never know, because the numbers will never be shared.

They are truly horrendous owners. Their removal is now the single most important issue facing this club. They MUST be forced out or this club will die.

Would say the club will die.

But they'd happily settle for finishing 4th-8th every year for eternity if it saved them from having to spend a tenner.

Just imagine what we’d be under these without Klopp. Doesn’t bear thinking about. They’re fucking horrible

We'll find out in a couple of years.

You really think it'll be that long? If we continue as we are into next season I think Jurgen walks by Christmas.. They'll never sack him but he'll have had enough, he'll take his lovely wife, a pack of Marlboro and go and sit on the beach with a New York Yankees cap.

He'll have us close enough to top 4 next season even if we only buy mid table level midfielders. He won't walk imo.

I hope you're right as he's the only thing that holding everything together at the moment... Him not being there is not something I even want to contemplate... He deserves so much better from FSG for what he's done for the value of their franchise..

One big summer.... The cunts at least owe him that.

He has a funny way of doing it though.

they can't use their own money, it's against the rules of FFP. The issue is that they seem reluctant to use OUR money to compete.

They could have put their own money in during Covid, the rules allowed for it, but they didn't do that either.  That was/is an issue too as lack of spending then is still affecting us now.

Spurs took out a BoE loan for £175m at an interest rate of 0.5% in 2020 during covid... I never understood why we didn't do the same.

There is a lot wrong with Italian football but they front up and support the manager when certain situations arise. You will often see Directors of Football, Directors and owners talk openly about transfers and what happened. We get anonymous briefings from journalists whose livelihoods partially depend on the crumbs they get from the club.

Even at Dortmund, Klopp had Zorc who was in the trenches with him. Zorc would probably be taking press conferences talking about this Bellingham deal and taking the load off Klopp who I doubt is looking forward to discussing transfers.

There were limitations on that loan that prevented you doing certain things (can't remember what now, but it may have been signing players). I'm pretty sure arsenal took the loan too, but quickly paid it back to avoid the restrictions.

Yeah you couldn't use it for transfers, Arsenal took the loan out then took a different loan out to pay it back.

You're right about the signing players, wonder if they could have used the money for the ARE expansion?

Dunno, but i don't see why not. Iirc the idea of the loans, aside from the obvious of keeping firms afloat in the short term, was to allow them to be able to carry on BAU  and planned growth projects during the period that might be otherwise stopped due to restricted cash flow. But I would think if you've taken the money, you surely are then banned from buying players even if you specifically try to ring fence that cash for development? But honestly I don't recall what the rules were. I know I tried to get some money to keep my firm going and couldn't get a penny, so quickly lost interest in that.
