Had to pick Chiellini. He was outstanding in the Euros and seems to have been around forever. A throwback to the golden days of Italian defenders of the 80's/90's. That scene above with Alba was as funny as it was surreal, he completely bullied him.

I've gone for Rio Ferdinand for my second pick. Absolute Rolls Royce of a centre half. Twat of a man but some defender.

Not a great group this time.

Tassotti was a right back.

Ferdinand is hugely overated. Not as good on the ball as John Terry, and never fancied the physical stuff.

Chiellini and Stam for me.

Im not even sure you’d find a Chelsea fan who’d come out with that claim.

Yeah nonsense that. Ferdinand was very good on the ball. If anything being on the ball was Terry’s weakest part of his game. He was an absolute warrior defending but poor on the ball

He really wasn't.

Edit: poors probably a bit harsh but he was nowhere near as good.

He wasn't as good as Ferdinand, but was still very good on the ball.

Carragher was "poor" on the ball.

Terry was never that great. He played alongside a superior defender in Carvalho babysat by one of the best defensive midfielders in the world in Makelele with Essien alongside them, who was also very good defensively. Rio Ferdinand was a far better defender than him.

I wouldn't say he was "very good" on the ball. I do think he was a superb defender though. Probably deserves to be in this tournament.

That's a bit like saying Carragher wasnt very good because he played alongside Hyypia. Terry was a cunt but a very good defender,in my view a better all round defender than Ferdinand.
