Rodgers slams England over Sturridge treatment

At the end of the summer - Rodgers stock was high whilst Hodgson's was almost done. But a month is a long time in football and now Hodgson's position is fairly solid whilst Rodgers has fallen away dramatically.

Comments by Rodgers, however fair or correct regarding Sturridge, will only be interpreted as whinging and the acts of a manager under pressure. The typical response amongst the fanbase will be about not caring what the media or rivals say. However, even the most dimwitted surely cannot have failed to notice that PR in football is almost as important as the reality.

So Rodgers is going to have to grin and bear it for the time-being. He can respond in-kind to Hodgson when he has a better hand to play.

New contract so he can be sold in the summer...................or am I being too cynical?

150k seems a lot but probably not in this day and age.

he deserves a new contract. hes scored something like 35 in 50.

in the short term the club will hope it spurs him on to achieve greater things for us but im sure they re also thinking about if he has to be sold. wonder is there a buy out clause?

Agree with what you're saying but for me fuck the PR,lets play Sturridge if he's fit, win the game and then face the shit storm to follow from the outraged southerners Daily Mail Ingurland fans (especially after reading the shit Ferguson used to pull)..at least with a smile on our faces.

The alternative doesn't bear thinking about.....

Ferguson was massively successful, when you achieve that you can do pretty much what you like and the press/fans/managers will eat whatever shit you feed them.

I've come up with courage and - at an extreme push - porridge.

Danny Sturridge

Show us courage

And eat your porridge

To the tune of Beethoven's 3rd.

It works if you glaze over.

Good job it was you that posted it then, wasn't it, Tom?

Boom, boom!

Can't stand the fact that Mario Ballotelli already has a song yet Sturridge is still not taken into our repertoire fully. He's the stand out striker in the team now, sees his future in a liverpool shirt. The comment about songs that he made when signing speaks volumes. Lets get behind the lad; it's not like we're blessed with goalscorers at the moment.

Instead of 'dances like a crazy fool'

'He's scoring goals on you'. or 'He's scoring more than you". Or even "He'll get a goal or two". You know, for when he scores and stuff.

Danny, Danny cool.

*A decent line referencing him being a really good footballer, possibly with the last word as rule or school, because you and two don't really rhyme with cool, and it's actually bringing me out in a slight OCD rash*

Danny, Danny cool.

Dances like a crazy fool.
