This is where our medics need to step in - our employee who we paid massive money for and who we pay massive money to could see his season ended because Egypt want to push him to play for them when injured.

We surely have to be able to be involved in this to be sure that no unnecessary risks are being taken and no longer term damage can be caused.

We don't count mate unfortunately, international football calls the shots.

He's upset because he knows his tournament is most likely over, but we were never going to have him for Arsenal or Chelsea.

Looking at the fixtures, they could be worse in the coming weeks. Ideally, he's okay for Brentford, but we need to get him right for City in March.

First hamstring injury in his career according to Transfermarkt...

That's not very common for an attacker that relies (or at least relied) so heavily on his speed as Mo. Speaks volumes to his professionalism and training regime.

Unfortunately it also means that the step he's already lost in his game probably becomes even more apparent. Let's pray that his superhuman powers of recovery and fitness gets him back at close to full force in the not so distant future.

I'm happy with our squad/attacking options, but I'm a bit fearful that this might be the beginning of the end. Hamstring injuries are an absolute bitch when it comes to trusting your speed to get back to what it was pre-injury, even in 2024.

Hopefully Egypt get knocked out tout suite and Salah returns to Liverpool with the injury not as bad as first feared.

Problem is 3rd place in group still likely makes it to knockout stage.

Only 8 teams get knocked out in groups.

Laughable.

Makes you wonder if he's been able to retain his normal training regime and recovery while away. He has a hyperbaric chamber and all that shit at home here. He never gets injured.

I reckon he'll be sound unless he is pushed/pushes to play their next game....that would potentially make a minor issue worse - and let's face it the egytian manager won't give a fuck about salah's long term situation.

Tbh he needs to fuck off international football. He's 31, if he has aspirations, like he always says, and wants to win leagues/champions league and the balon dor he needs to focus on club football.

It fucks up our season every 2 years and it hurts him too because he plays far too many games.

Precisely. Elite athletes have bespoke training regimes. He’s Ronaldo-esque in fitness terms, and it make you think that something is different.

Obviously chalk and cheese in terms of fitness records, but remember how furious Rodger’s was when Sturridge was injured on England duty in late 2014? Basically said that we had a bespoke routine in terms of recovery for forwards and England refused to follow it.

The owl faced cunt wanted to "test his resolve" if I remember correctly.
