Usually if a player for us starts to return to full training they don’t play for about 6 months so my best guess on Salah is that he’ll never kick a ball again.

I agree the club wants him away from the Egypt camp at all costs.

 

The optics of him leaving are strange however given the event and his role in it.

Maybe Salah realised after the first group game that Egypt were shit and have no chance of winning the tournament so feigned an injury just to get back here to concentrate on actually winning stuff instead?

It makes no sense for him to be with Egypt whose full focus is on Afcon tournament. He is going to be sitting there gutted watching his team mates struggle.

 

We have the people to look after him, he knows that, Egypt knows that so its a good thing he is back. Hopefully he can heal quickly and come back soon.

Feigned an injury so he could not play for his country where he is idolized and revered as a national treasure because the national team may not win the continental tournament? he would really have to be a cunt of the first order to do that.

It suits everybody. He’d probably prefer to be back with his family while getting treatment rather than hang around a training camp with little likelihood of playing again in the competition.

I like how we have gone about this and have got him coming back.

 

He is our employee who we pay millions to and paid millions for and who we will be relying on for the rest of a season where we are fighting on 4 fronts - we should be 100% in control of his situation when he is hurt.

Wrong numbers.

 

Salah also has a perfectly legit assist for Diaz at Spurs.
