So if he gets world class keeper and he plays well, he's a great coach. If he gets a shit keeper and he plays shit, he's a shit coach? That can't be right. I understand results are important, but unless we think he's teaching Karius to parry it into his own goal or throw the ball to an attacker, then I'd suggest it's not a great way to judge.

I mean, he might be completely shit, I've no idea. It'd be strange for Klopp to tolerate it on a day to day basis, wouldn't it? He has worked with some quality coaches, as have other coaches, he must surely know if the training methods suck or something is so wrong he's ruining all keepers?

Its not just Karius though is it? Which is my point.Ever since he was appointed our goalkeepers have become much worse.Reina was world class and his demise appeared to coincide with Acherberg and co being appointed. I saw a fair bit of Karius in Germany and he was a totally different keeper. You could argue that Karius may have been overawed with the step up but you cannot say that about Reina. Mignolet has never been particularly brilliant at all but he looked much better at Sunderland and played a lot of PL games. He has failed in his job,in my opinion, and somebody else should get a chance. We simply cannot afford any problems with Alisson.

Nah I disagree mate. They both had the exact same issues, flapping at crosses. Was clearly something we didn't practice.

The pressure playing for Aston Villa, Blackburn and Spurs is a lot less than playing for Liverpool. Happens to loads of players.

Klopp isn't perfect, he persisted with Moreno for long enough.

None of us on here really know what's going on with the goalkeeper coach behind the scenes, but the evidence shows that our keepers have been mediocre since Achterberg turned up & none of them have shown any signs of improvement.

I think it's time for a change there & we should look to bring the boy who was coaching Alisson at Roma in.

If the first quality keeper he's worked with turns out good, is thingybob going to get the credit?   No way does a fat disinterested Reina count as quality back then.

I seen a goal Reina conceded to Benteke the last day and by god it was dreadful, Brad Jones levels of bad.  I'd forgotten just how poor he got when he stopped giving a fuck, tbf nothing he done at the time would have made the slightest bit of difference with that squad and where the club was heading but he literally started letting everything in.   Our main problem was then signing a keeper who continued that trend and then taking a punt on a young keeper.

This summer is the first time we've signed a proper goalie in long time.
